Marrow Drives

A site to help patients in need of bone marrow or stem cell transplants learn how to publicize their donor drive efforts.

MarrowDrives.org

Easy tutorials with donor drive ideas that you can use online or in person for patients, family and friends.

United States Bone Marrow Donor Organizations

Locating a Marrow Donor Program and/or Recruitment Group to work with is a fairly straighforward process. The Donor Program will assist you in hosting live drives and publicizing your need on line as a "focus patient" if you or your patient is comfortable with going public.

Depending upon a patient's ethnicity and where you have support from friends, colleagues and family members you may choose to work with a single national program or may also work with an ethnic specific organization.

Be The Match (aka the National Marrow Donor Program) and DKMS are organizations with similar goals but major differences in their testing costs and funding methods. More to come on this soon.

Become My Hero

Mavin Website

www.BecomeMyHero.org

Become My Hero finds cord blood donors for anyone in imminent danger of dying because they need a bone marrow transplant to survive but can't find a donor. We also help those currently in remission and would like to have at least two cord blood units to set aside in case of a relapse.

Save The Cord

Mavin Website

SaveTheCordFoundaiton.org

Cord blood is currently being used to treat over 70 diseases, and research has shown even more potential. Tragically, in the United States 97% of cord blood is discarded as medical waste because of lack of education and awareness about cord blood.
